Licensed Midwife Provided Postpartum & Newborn Care

Amy Berg, LM, NCS, PPD
My journey in supporting new families began at just 15 years old, when I had the unique opportunity to serve as a live-in Newborn Care Specialist for overseas military families. That early experience sparked a deep passion for maternal and infant care, ultimately leading me into the medical field with the dream of one day “catching babies.” In 2002, I became a certified birth doula and attended my first birth, a transformative moment that solidified my commitment to midwifery and postpartum support.
In 2015, I graduated from Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in San Diego, CA, and became a Licensed Midwife in the state of California. My years serving families in both home and birth center settings, combined with my own experience as a mother, illuminated a profound truth: the postpartum period is often overlooked, yet it is one of the most critical and sacred phases of a family's journey.
I bring not only clinical knowledge, but also a grounded, calming presence and deep respect for each family’s individual path. It is an honor to provide evidence-based, heart-centered care, bridging essential gaps in postpartum support with compassion, skill, and presence.
