Licensed Midwife, Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula

My journey in supporting new families began at just 15 years old, when I had the unique opportunity to serve as a live-in Newborn Care Specialist for overseas military families. That early experience sparked a deep passion for maternal and infant care, ultimately leading me into the medical field with the dream of one day “catching babies.” In 2002, I became a certified birth doula and attended my first birth, a transformative moment that solidified my commitment to midwifery and postpartum support.

In 2015, I graduated from Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in San Diego, CA, and became a Licensed Midwife in the state of California. My years serving families in both home and birth center settings, combined with my own experience as a mother, illuminated a profound truth: the postpartum period is often overlooked, yet it is one of the most critical and sacred phases of a family's journey.

My own journey as a mother of three incredible daughters has transformed my perspective on pregnancy and birth. Each unique experience highlighted the importance of a knowledgeable support system, revealing the wisdom and awareness my children had even before entering the world. I am passionate about helping families connect with their newborns from the very beginning, fostering an intuitive bond that grows stronger as they learn to understand each other's languages.

Philosophy

With over two decades of experience supporting families from pregnancy through the postpartum period, I bring deep expertise, calm leadership, and an intuitive ability to meet each family exactly where they are. Whether assisting in birth, guiding new parents through sleepless nights, or providing evidence-based newborn care, I offer a steady presence rooted in compassion and skill. I'm now continuing my work through my private practice, where I remain dedicated to supporting the beautiful transitions of early parenthood.

Past Families

"The initial idea of being able to have someone come into our home and support us in this way felt so unattainable. A dream of a concept far beyond our reach. Any then it wasn't. At the most intense and scary time of our lives, you joined us and held our son. You showed us that everything was going to be ok. From the moment we met you virtually to the final moments of saying goodbye, you felt like family. The trust and rapport you are able to build with people so quickly is rare and magical. We learned so much from you and are so grateful you welcomed our barrage of questions every evening with patience and compassion. We will say here again, you have no idea how much you helped us. Not only take better care of our son, but stay connected, hopeful, and sane, during the most challenging and wonderful time of our lives. You brought our family closer together by giving us space to heal, recover, to learn, to understand, to try, to fail, to try again....all while hold our hands then letting go and watching us take it on ourselves. Thank you for your kindness, your care, and your calm. I know our son will always remember those nights, as will we. I hope more families get to experience your passion and love, your professionalism and expertise, because anyone who does will be so lucky."
